Well Monday was my first day of work at the new job. It's been a long week. What a tough transition, but that's to be expected.
Though I should be grateful that my purse wasn't stolen. When I started at my former company five years ago my purse was stolen on my first day of work...yes, talk about a horrible first day! My boss and co-worker at the time took me out to lunch at a really nice restaurant. My purse was stolen right off of my chair and neither my boss nor my co-worker noticed. An inside job perhaps. So yeah, they thought I wasn't going to come back the next day. Oh and the kicker, I had more cash in there than normal. I also had my social security card in there since it was my first day. That's another story - how I had to go get a new one...some guy gave me his card. He worked at some exotic dance club - ick!
In summary, yay for not having my purse stolen at my new job!

Bathroom Makeover - In Progress!
Well, I don't even know if I would call it a "makeover" vs. a "refresh." Our entryway bathroom was in pretty good shape when we moved in about three years ago. The paint just needed to be refreshed, the outlets need to be updated, new wallplates were needed. Again, this is still a work in progress. I need to get the "before" photos from my other computer.
The lights were already there when we moved in...likewise for the vanity, sink, and faucet. The towel is new and from PB. The vanity is quite old...we think it is original to the house which was built in 1990...but at this point, we're not replacing it. We will replace the knobs though. Mark has since replaced the electrical socket and light switch - no more yellowish white!

The quite worn wallplate we are replacing.
Bottom Half: Brown Teepee by Behr
We still need to paint the crown moulding, chair rail, baseboards, and toe moulding. Fun!
The door was lightly sanded and then painted with white semi-gloss by Behr. We replaced the door handles. These are called "Tustin" and are satin nickel from HD.

Last Day at Work!
Yesterday was my last day at work! I had been with the company for five years...actually my anniversary was in January and I just ordered my "gift" before I left. I'm leaving one financial services company and going to another one. That's kind of risky to do in light of how financial services companies have been doing in the past two years. About a year and a half ago, my now "former" company had went through extensive layoffs.
But you have to take risks to get ahead and if you don't take risks you will always wonder. My new company is actually a few blocks from my old one. We'll also be moving to a brand new building at the end of April...ironic considering my old company had just moved to a new building in September...the best building in the city in my opinion. Oh well!
I have today and tomorrow off and I start the new gig on Monday. Let's hope I can be productive at home on my days off! hmmm right now I'm eating a crab pretzel and watching Lost.

"Go make some money!"
Our sweet golden retriever, Tucker, had a bit of an accident the other day...on our bed.
This is kind of gross, but anyway, he threw up his food during the day while we were at work. Who knows what happened, but well, it ruined our sheets. Thankfully our duvet cover was not affected.
Mark, my husband, says to Tucker tonight, "You owe me sheets, boy. Go make some money! I don't care how, maybe get a modeling gig." haha

Dreams About Vampires
It's quite hard to blog during the week since 1. I am at work and quite busy as I wrap up everything and 2. Weeknights are hard...I'm trying to limit my internet time on weeknights to try to be more productive around the house. Too bad watching the Olympics has taken the place of internet surfing/research.
Anyway, a few nights ago I had this vivid, bizarre, and at times scary dream (not quite a nightmare). My dream combined the Twilight series with the Sookie Stackhouse series. I dreamt that I could read the minds of others (a la Sookie and Edward)...Edward and I were talking to each other in our minds. But then there was this really tall woman...who happened to be a shifter (Sookie series). She was a villan though. Somehow Edward and I could no longer read each other's minds or those of others and this shifter was after us.
Strange I know. Maybe it's time to step away from the Vampire books?
