Bring on the AC

Ah, Maryland weather.  We can go from several blizzards to sizzling weather in the blink of an eye.  Earlier in the week we had the heat on since the temps went down to the 30's overnight.  Fast forward to this weekend with temps in the 80's...and humidity.  Yup, wouldn't be MD without humidity.

Mark and I are quite excited though to use our AC since we have one new HVAC unit...hopefully our BGE bill is much less.  It has to be considering the old unit was 20 years old.  We replaced the unit that covers the top two floors - key for the summertime as our loft becomes a sauna.  Odd how that is where the cats sleep on days like today? Poor Tucker can't stop panting, yet he refuses to go down to the nice, cool basement since he's a velcro dog :)

In other news, Mark and I traveled to Frederick on Saturday.  I wanted to go to Annapolis since that is my dream place to move to (not for long though because of the real estate market)...but Mark through a toddler fit saying, "we have already been there so many times...let's go somewhere we haven't been."  Thus, Frederick.  It was a long drive (1.5 hours) to only spend about two hours there.  We walked around, visited some stores, and grabbed some beers and food.  The town is very cute...nice and historic.  They were also celebrating May, so it quickly became a game for me to collect flowers from the stores (a promo they were running to get people into stores).  Yet, I bought nothing.  I'm weary of some of the items I see in stores when I know I can find them cheaper online at times...I get supporting the local economy and what not...just call me a weary in-person shopper that loves shopping online instead.

On Sunday, I met some lovely friends for a brunch downtown.  All was fine and dandy until some idiots that were in the building above us (we were sitting outside in the shade) decided to spit on our table.  Oh dear.  Several hours later and lots of good conversations, I headed home...to organize.  Ah, yes, me organizing usually means me procrastinating.  But, I am happy to report that I did organize the loft!  I finally threw away about, oh, 20 Us Weekly magazines, along with many Pottery Barn and C&B magazines.  The "real" magazines, e.g. Money, Fortune, Allure, Real Simple...don't get thrown away.  Like ever.  I hope that doesn't make me a hoarder like my mom...more to come on that!
