Product Recommendation: Estee Lauder Automatic Eyeliner

Eyeliner is a great thing...I try my best to never leave home without some of it on (even, gasp, if I go to the gym...just a little so I don't look 14 years old - but really I am not THAT woman that has a face of makeup on at the gym).

For many years, I have relied upon Estee Lauder's Automatic Eye Pencil Duo in Hyacinth Sky.  The refills of the color seem to last forever...we're talking more than six months.  The color, Hyacinth Sky, is a perfect dark blue and slate color.  It looks natural and can be played up with other eyeliner colors and eyeshadow.  Because realistically, black eyeliner does not work well on my blue eyes and fair skintone.

The Face Behind the Words

Yes, I am a real person...I realized I haven't really posted many photos of myself yet...and this is MY blog, so here you go...enjoy.  If you get bored of seeing me strike a pose, I have included photos of some other people too.  These photos are from a wedding we recently went to in PA.

Yup, that's me and the husband.  My hair looks pretty decent here, thank goodness.  This was at the Rehearsal Dinner.  It's worth noting that Mark always HAS to be early for everything and gets on his every last nerve if I make him late.  I was unusually on time (okay okay, five minutes late, that's pretty good) for our trip to Philly.  We made it to the church about 45 minutes early so we just sat in our car on our BlackBerries.  About 15 minutes before the rehearsal...Mark freaked out, "OMG we're at the wrong church!!!  It's supposed to be in Villanova, not Wayne."  HA, that was fun!

Mark and the groom.

More of Mark's friends.  The "Party Wagon" minus 1.  All great high school friends.

Umm yeah, this look took two hours to create and I wanted to document it before my makeup melted and my hair went flat.  Never again will I spend SO much time curling my hair...not worth it.

I loved this dress...kind of.  It was pretty formal (it had a little train!), but not too comfy around the shoulder area.  But overall, it was a good find at a discount store...and it's Calvin Klein!

Lovely bride and groom!  Her dress was gorgeous.

Purple ladies.  Purple is so in this year.

Would You Judge? Be Honest!

Hypothetically...would you judge if:

1. you received a baby shower invitation in your door not addressed to anyone - you guess it's for you and assume they don't know your name even though you have met them several times
2. the shower is this Saturday
3. it says to RSVP to the woman that is pregnant (aka the guest of honor) even though someone else is "giving" the shower
4. the person is having their second baby...another boy...and her other son is only a few years older
5. she registered for about 300+ things and there is a bathing suit for her and some clothes for her on the registry

Get Over the Obsession

Really, I need to get over this Jon & Kate Plus Ei8ht obsession.  It's not healthy...but it is quite comical that I'm several years late on the bandwagon.

I get home, take Tucker on a walk, eat, and then watch the bickering couple.  This is happening almost every night...pathetic!  Mark even caught me googling, "Kate's before and after tummy tuck photos."  Guilty as charged.

I'm the kind of person that needs to know everything when something interests me.  For example, I spend many many hours researching vacations.  I love doing research.  I refuse to watch shows mid-season if I haven't seen other episodes.  For example, I fell behind on the show, "Chuck" last year and now I am screwed...I'm going to wait until it comes out on DVD.

Oh right...so where was I going?  Oh yes, my crazy personality doesn't like missing anything.  This means that I was so confused upon watching some Jon & Kate episodes...I thought, "how come I never saw the Disney one?"  Off to google...yup, looks like Netflix doesn't have that one?!?!  Then I started wondering, "when did they show Kate's surgery?  How come I never saw this footage from when the 6 kids were babies?"  Ohhh right, because apparently there were two specials before they even made it to TLC.  Like I said, I need to step away from the tv.  But I'm dying to see how their Hawaii trip goes...oh how I love Hawaii.

Bring on the AC

Ah, Maryland weather.  We can go from several blizzards to sizzling weather in the blink of an eye.  Earlier in the week we had the heat on since the temps went down to the 30's overnight.  Fast forward to this weekend with temps in the 80's...and humidity.  Yup, wouldn't be MD without humidity.

Mark and I are quite excited though to use our AC since we have one new HVAC unit...hopefully our BGE bill is much less.  It has to be considering the old unit was 20 years old.  We replaced the unit that covers the top two floors - key for the summertime as our loft becomes a sauna.  Odd how that is where the cats sleep on days like today? Poor Tucker can't stop panting, yet he refuses to go down to the nice, cool basement since he's a velcro dog :)

In other news, Mark and I traveled to Frederick on Saturday.  I wanted to go to Annapolis since that is my dream place to move to (not for long though because of the real estate market)...but Mark through a toddler fit saying, "we have already been there so many times...let's go somewhere we haven't been."  Thus, Frederick.  It was a long drive (1.5 hours) to only spend about two hours there.  We walked around, visited some stores, and grabbed some beers and food.  The town is very cute...nice and historic.  They were also celebrating May, so it quickly became a game for me to collect flowers from the stores (a promo they were running to get people into stores).  Yet, I bought nothing.  I'm weary of some of the items I see in stores when I know I can find them cheaper online at times...I get supporting the local economy and what not...just call me a weary in-person shopper that loves shopping online instead.

On Sunday, I met some lovely friends for a brunch downtown.  All was fine and dandy until some idiots that were in the building above us (we were sitting outside in the shade) decided to spit on our table.  Oh dear.  Several hours later and lots of good conversations, I headed home...to organize.  Ah, yes, me organizing usually means me procrastinating.  But, I am happy to report that I did organize the loft!  I finally threw away about, oh, 20 Us Weekly magazines, along with many Pottery Barn and C&B magazines.  The "real" magazines, e.g. Money, Fortune, Allure, Real Simple...don't get thrown away.  Like ever.  I hope that doesn't make me a hoarder like my mom...more to come on that!
