The Basement

Our basement is *this* close to being completed decorated and finished.

The wish/to-do list:
- an area rug, perhaps a runner
- re-frame Australia prints
- new furniture?
- new floors (less likely to happen, but I hate hate hate the tiled floors down there)
- re-weatherstrip the doors. The doors are never going to be replaced...I think we had one set priced at $7k...we have two sets down there.

This is the rug I was just checking out...I have some C&B gift cards so this is a possibility!

Out of Sight. Out of Mind?

Is that saying true?

Perhaps...I was just going through my e-mail account (finally)...and thinking what a novel idea it was that I re-routed all of the shopping e-mails I used to receive to a special "shopping" e-mail address. So quite impressive that I haven't bought any clothes this month!

Granted, I did think about it because I had some Limited virtual dollars due to expire and I received a Banana Republic e-mail in my regular, normal e-mail, but I didn't order anything!

I did however use Amazon.com gift certificates to but the Harry Potter Blu Ray DVDs 1-7! I can't wait until they arrive.

Attempting Pot Roast

If you know me well, you know that 1. I don't like to cook and 2. I'm not *that* good at it. I love to bake, on the other hand.

Since it's MLK day and the stock market is closed, I had off today. I felt slightly motivated, just slightly. Went to the grocery store, stocked up on all of the ingredients for the Pioneer Woman's pot roast.

Now granted, I had to buy fresh thyme and rosemary...they will probably expire in my refrigerator. Awesome. Wish me luck.

Search for the Perfect Lipgloss

Why is it so hard to find a decent lipgloss? The color is important, but so is the gloss level...you don't want a lipgloss that is too sticky or too dry.

I recently tried this lipgloss from L'Oreal; it is called Watermelon Crush. It smells refreshing and is quite glossy...but the color is off, at least for my skin tone. I'm pretty pale but fake it with bronzer and this color is just too peachy for me. I need to get a "pinker" color but they are always sold out.
